Some time ago we were celebrating a birthday of a beloved friend. Since she is an expert in dreaming, her friends, including me, decided to have a Social Dreaming evening for this occasion.
Social Dreaming is a method of working with dreams that is shared and associated within a gathering of people, who come together for this purpose. To introduce this event I was looking for a mantra that would give some meditative energy. After a quick search if a dreaming mantra would exist, the Internet provided me with the words of a mantra. When I first saw the words I just picked up my guitar and within seconds the melody was born. It brings so much fun and wonder when a melody just happens!
What started off as a playful
intention and experimentation soon turned out to be an incredible powerful mantra for Lucid Dreaming. This mantra will guide you in your sleeping hours.
The words of the mantra are very simple, and its power lies (as in all mantra's) in the repetition of the divine name (japa), the focus of the mind (mana) and the right song (bhaja). These three qualities will energize and manifest the intention you have in your heart.
OM HRIM HRIM HRIM KRIM KRIM SWAPENESHVARI
You can use this mantra to humbly ask the Divine (God, The Absolute) to shine some light on a question of your heart while you are dreaming. It gives you the possibility to receive an answer in your dreams and to talk to God in your dreams.
You can call this the 'Mantra of the Goddess of Dreams'. Why Goddess? Why Goddess?
Ishvari or Ishwari simply means Goddess. Swapan means dream and Svapna refers to the dream state. As human beings we know three states of consciousness and Svapna is the second one,
the world in which all things happen, the world of you and me, of phenomena. Hrim and Krim are seed mantras. The fourth state of consciousness is known as Turya and has different layers.
Since the result of our Social Dreaming experiment was extremely powerful and, in many ways, very clarifying and uplifting, I started to use the mantra more often before I went to sleep. Much to my surprise and gratitude I experienced a deeper clarity on several subjects during this period.
It is important to mention that the questions you may have really come from the heart and benefit everyone and do not harm others. Our bodies, an open mind and open heart are the greatest receiving instruments we human beings have been given. Let's be sincere and use it well and with wisdom.
